FAQ + Troubleshooting

When should I use Smudge Budge?

Home Care: Smudge Budge should be used as step 1 at night time, the Juice Cleanse, in a Skin Juice Daily Diet routine.

Professional use: Use Smudge Budge as the first cleanse in your Skin Juice facial treatment before following with the appropriate cleanser for the client's skin type.

Why do I need to apply this cleanser to dry skin?

Our oil-based cleansers are designed to emulsify (or milk up) with the addition of water. So in order to get that deep cleanse you're after we recommend applying your cleanser with dry hands to a dry face. This allows the oil to 'grab' onto the makeup, dirt and impurities before you add water to create a milk and wash the cleanser away.

Can I use this cleanser with lash extensions or lifts?

You can use any cleanser for the face, providing you avoid the eye area and only using our Smudge Budger micro fibre cloth around the eyes.

Why does Skin Juice recommend not cleansing in the morning?

As part of of the Skin Juice Daily Diet routine we recommend to only cleanse at night to help preserve your skin's natural protective barrier function. Your skin produces natural oils and secretions while you sleep, and these are essential in protecting the skin against irritation, dehydration and infection. You might like to read more about this from one of our blogs here.

Why doesn’t Skin Juice have foaming cleansers?

Foaming cleansers contain drying detergents that strip the skin of oil. That tight, dry feeling that comes after using a foaming cleanser? That’s the feeling of skin that has been stripped of its natural oils and can leave the skin vulnerable to irritation and infection.
